“Talleres de Nazaret – Silay Special Outing”
What a wonderful way of having a pause from a routine day in the life of our co-workers at the Taller! This special outing is usually done every year to give them time to unwind, enjoy the camaraderie, gain inspiration and be revitalized to face the ordinary working days at the taller. They are accompanied by Sisters Regina and Victoria, SSJ who also work with them at the Taller.
We are blessed with two CICM priests who shared about the beauty of life and growth amidst challenges, joys and successes in concrete realties. Fr. Ronald from Mongolia encouraged us always good to connect with our God in prayer, not as a community but to start giving time praying to God personally, which is the very foundation of our faith and our relationships with others.
Fr. Vergel shared his beautiful encounter with people and workers in his Parish in Cameroon.
He said that “leading people to participate in your project is just about being with them and working with them, empowerment and evangelization follow”. We were very attentive listening as he emphasized to our co-workers, “first and foremost, love your work because your work and your products reach to far places and countries like Cameroon, and they are proud to wear your products”.
The afternoon was spent in hand painting, making and flying kites and playing traditional Filipino games and even basketball to have time to be harnessing our appreciation and gratitude and to set free our childlikeness. In these memorable moments of fun and togetherness, we are weaving deeper connection among ourselves.
We welcomed the following day gathered at 5:00 A.M. for prayer near the shore with a bonfire, listening to the crackling of the wood burned in fire and the sound of waves. We ended this moment praising God in songs and shared prayers then breakfast.
We had the celebration of the Mass with Fr. Gary, CICM. After which, we gathered to share our experience to the group and then, Sr. Regie and Sr. Vicky handed to each one her hand painting put in a frame. It is a very significant token of this special outing filled with surprises. We went home with a smile on our faces.
To God, we offer back everything….

¡Qué manera tan maravillosa de tomarse un respiro de la rutina diaria de nuestros compañeros del Taller! Esta salida especial se suele realizar cada año para darles tiempo a relajarse, disfrutar de la camaradería, inspirarse y revitalizarse para afrontar los días laborables en el Taller. Les acompañan las hermanas Regie y Vicky, SSJ que también trabajan con ellas en el Taller.
Tuvimos la suerte de contar con dos sacerdotes CICM que compartieron con nosotras la belleza de la vida y el crecimiento en medio de los retos, las alegrías y los éxitos de la realidad concreta. El P. Ronald, de Mongolia, nos animó a conectar siempre con Dios en la oración, no solo como comunidad, sino a empezar a dedicar tiempo a orar a Dios personalmente, lo cual es el fundamento mismo de nuestra fe y de nuestras relaciones con los demás.
El P. Vergel compartió su hermoso encuentro con la gente y los trabajadores de su parroquia en Camerún. Dijo que «llevar a las personas a participar en tu proyecto consiste simplemente en estar con ellas y trabajar con ellas; el empoderamiento y la evangelización vendrán después». Escuchamos con gran atención mientras él insistía a nuestros compañeros de trabajo, «ante todo, amen su trabajo porque su trabajo y sus productos llegan a lugares y países lejanos como Camerún, y allí se sienten orgullosos de llevar sus productos».
Pasamos la tarde pintando a mano, haciendo y volando cometas, jugando a juegos tradicionales filipinos e incluso al baloncesto, para tener tiempo de cultivar nuestro aprecio y gratitud y dar rienda suelta a nuestra inocencia infantil. En estos momentos memorables de diversión y unión, estamos tejiendo una conexión más profunda entre nosotras.
Dimos la bienvenida al día siguiente reuniéndonos a las 5:00 a. m. para rezar cerca de la orilla con una hoguera, escuchando el crepitar de la leña quemándose en el fuego y el sonido de las olas. Terminamos este momento alabando a Dios con cantos y oraciones compartidas, y luego desayunamos.
Celebramos la misa con el P. Gary, CICM. Después, nos reunimos para compartir nuestra experiencia con el grupo y, a continuación, las hermanas Regie y Vicky entregaron a cada una su pintura hecha a mano y enmarcada. Es un recuerdo muy significativo de esta salida especial llena de sorpresas. Regresamos a casa con una sonrisa en los rostros.
A Dios le devolvemos todo…
