TOWARDS MAKING OUR CONGREGATION KNOWN
The Parish Youth Day Celebration in Santa Monica Parish, Pinamungahan, Cebu, took a significant leap forward on February 28 to March 2, 2026 in a vibrant Vocation Jamboree. The event brought together 764 participants, ages 13 to 35 coming from different parishes in the Vicariate and 41 Congregations/groups, thus making it a remarkable gathering of young people and Vocation Promoters. The Jamboree was packed with engaging activities including three insightful talks on the different states of life in order for the participants to gain a deeper understanding of God’s call and the varied ways by which we respond to it.
There was a display of vocation materials in the different booths while talks were going on till about 6 P.M. and the youth participants did booth hopping to have the chance to ask questions and collect materials from the various Congregations present in the Jamborree.
Many came to our booth and we believe that our presence, SSJ and 2 of our Talleres de Nazaret co-workers, awakened the curiosity and interest of the youth about our Congregation, Charism and Mission. We met some young ladies whom we knew at the last year’s Vocation Jamboree and with whom we continued to have contact with them.
At night, the whole group assembled at the gymnasium where various Congregations were introduced briefly followed by vocation talks. After which the booth hopping of the young people resumed. There was great interaction among the youth and the Congregation’s representatives, both religious and lay.
Our co-workers themselves expressed that they gained a deeper and wider knowledge about our Congregation and our Founders as they distributed vocation materials and talked to the youth.
The Jamboree concluded with the 5:00 A.M. Mass and then, the participants and DVP representatives were served breakfast. All went home filled with joy and gratitude for the blessings and learnings at this event,
On our part, we are enthusiastic and committed to participate in the events and activities organized by the Directors of Vocations in the Philippines (DVP), which we are a member. May all of this bear fruit in God’s time!
PARA DAR A CONOCER NUESTRA CONGREGACIÓN
La celebración de la Jornada Parroquial de la Juventud en la parroquia de Santa Mónica, en Pinamungahan (Cebú), dio un importante paso adelante del 28 de febrero al 2 de marzo de 2026 con un animado encuentro vocacional. El evento reunió a 764 participantes, de entre 13 y 35 años, procedentes de diferentes parroquias del Vicariato y de 41 congregaciones y grupos, lo que lo convirtió en un notable encuentro de jóvenes y promotores vocacionales. El encuentro estuvo repleto de actividades atractivas, incluyendo tres charlas inspiradoras sobre los diferentes estados de vida, con el fin de que los participantes adquirieran una comprensión más profunda de la llamada de Dios y de las diversas formas en que respondemos a ella.
Hubo una exposición de material vocacional en los diferentes puestos mientras se desarrollaban las charlas hasta aproximadamente las 18:00 h, y los jóvenes participantes fueron de puesto en puesto para tener la oportunidad de hacer preguntas y recoger material de las diversas congregaciones presentes en el Jamboree.
Muchos se acercaron a nuestro stand y creemos que nuestra presencia, la de las SSJ y la de dos de nuestras colaboradoras de los Talleres de Nazaret, despertó la curiosidad y el interés de las jóvenes por nuestra Congregación, nuestro carisma y nuestra misión. Pudimos encontrarnos con algunas jóvenes a las que conocimos en el Jamboree Vocacional del año pasado y con las que seguimos manteniendo contacto.
Por la noche, todo el grupo se reunió en el gimnasio, donde se presentó brevemente a varias congregaciones, seguido de charlas vocacionales. A continuación, los jóvenes volvieron a recorrer los puestos. Hubo una gran interacción entre los jóvenes y los representantes de las Congregaciones o los grupos, tanto religiosas/os como laicas/os.
Nuestros propios colaboradores expresaron que adquirieron un conocimiento más profundo y amplio sobre nuestra Congregación y nuestros Fundadores mientras distribuían materiales vocacionales y hablaban con los jóvenes.
El Jamboree concluyó con la Misa de las 5:00 a. m. y, a continuación, se sirvió el desayuno a los participantes y a los representantes de la DVP. Todos regresaron a casa llenos de alegría y gratitud por las bendiciones y lo aprendido en este evento.
Por nuestra parte, estamos entusiasmadas y comprometidas a participar en los eventos y actividades organizados por los Directores de Vocaciones de Filipinas (DVP), de los que formamos parte. ¡Que todo esto dé fruto en el tiempo de Dios!
